Alienware Challenge#1: SSD vs HDD

 

 

Few days ago Natus Vincere office in image Kiev, Ukraine was equipped with Alienware M17x laptops which were actively used by our Dota 2 team on their bootcamp for The International 2. There were different setups of these laptops and that is why we decided to compare them in a so called "challenge" format :)

 

One laptop had 1TB HDD while the second one also had Kingston HyperX SSD of 256 GB with OS installed on it. We decided to compare the OS loadspeed from HDD and SDD. You can see the outcome on the video below (click CC in YouTube player for English subtitles):

 

 

It's important to note that we tested it on a pre-installed operating system. The actual load speed can be even higher that it is shown in this video test.
