Blizzard to remake old hits?
Recently a vacancy of Senior Software Engineer Classic Games was published on the official website of Blizzard. The responsibilities include the rebuilt of gameplay, the change of its features, the introduction of multiplayer and new ideas.
The strategies of Warcraft and StarCraft, as well as Diablo RPGs are the works, which made the company one of the world's leading game developers. All the projects are still supported by Battle.net, and the developers continue issuing various patches and updates for these "oldschool" games. So, there's no surprise Blizzard are thinking over a possibility to reissue the old projects, which we all enjoyed so much.
"Compelling stories. Intense multiplayer. Endless replayability. Qualities that made StarCraft, Warcraft III, and Diablo II the titans of their day. Evolving operating systems, hardware, and online services have made them more difficult to be experienced by their loyal followers or reaching a new generation. We’re restoring them to glory, and we need your engineering talents, your passion, and your ability to get tough jobs done."
By the way, Warcraft fans have long been developing a mode on the basis of StarCraft II engine. The project, named WarCraft: Armies Of Azeroth, has an army of fans, who've been waiting for a new part of the famous series. Probably, the official announcement of both remakes and new parts of the legendary saga will be most welcomed. Some of them might be announced at the upcoming BlizzCon, what do you think?
