ESL One is back in Cologne
ESL announced today that their next event, ESL One Cologne 2016, will take place in the Lanxess Arena in July and will have a massive prize pool of $250,000.
After the success of last year’s ESL One that ended with Fnatic taking the title over EnvyUS, ESL is back in Cologne for the third year in a row for the “largest CS:GO tournament in the world” as they call it. The tournament will feature the world's best teams as they fight over the course of 3 days for the $250,000 prize pool and the chance to be crowned the best Counter-Strike team in the world.
ESL One will take place from the 8th to the 10th of July with the number of teams being announced later, and while the format also hasn’t been announced, it may follow the same format as last year, which consisted of 2 group stages followed by a single elimination playoff bracket.
For this event, ESL is bringing back the ESL One Cologne Camp, a place where you can (for an affordable price) pitch your tent to relax after a day of watching some of the best CS in the world. As for the tickets, ESL is offering a new premium experience that includes a private lounge for you and four of your friends, catering, being the first in line for signing sessions and a “behind the scenes” tour of the event. After the event ends, ESL is offering all football fans a chance to watch the Euro 2016 Final inside the arena.
The tickets will go on sale on the 9th of December at 18:00 CET, so make sure you’re ready as they might sell out fast. For more info on the event check here.
