HotS World Championship 2015: Results

The first Heroes of the Storm World Championship has come to an end. Cloud9 became the champions, while the Born to Win took third and fourth place, having been defeated in semifinal by Team Dignitas.

Speaking of the choice of the teams, Blizzard made a wise decision, by distributing quotas not in terms of usual regions (Europe, America, China and Southeast Asia), but taking into account balance of power in each region. As a result, Southeast Asia was divided into Korea and Taiwan, which enabled to avoid numerical advantage of any region.

Cloud9 won the World Champion's title. The team had been in the shadow of another American team Tempo Storm for a long time. However they managed to consolidate their powers for the championship and won it. The Born to Win, who were considered the main favourite of the tournament, many predicting they'd become champions, were defeated by European Team Dignitas.
