Na`Vi to play at IEM Katowice
The details of CS:GO Extreme Masters World Championship have been revealed. After a three year break, the classical ESL cup returns. The world's twelve best teams will challenge one another in pursuit of the champion's title. The prize pool is large - $ 250 000, which is close to the prize money of Valve's events.
According to the information provided by the tournament's organizers, the final part of Extreme Masters World Championship will be held on 4–5 March at Spodek Arena (Katowice, Poland). The competition format likens classical format of Extreme Masters. The teams will be divided into two groups. The winner of each group gets directly to the semifinal. The teams, which took second and third places will encounter in the playoff.
The group stage will be held on 2-3 March with no viewers. Match format is bo5. The most powerful teams will perform at Spodek Arena. The playoff will last 2 days and be live-broadcasted.
The format of Extreme Masters
Eight teams, including Natus Vincere received invites to Extreme Masters World Championship. Four teams from Europe, Asia and North America will be qualified. The Asian quota will be obtained at Intel Extreme Masters Taipei. The qualifiers will be held by ESEA. Europe will have 2 qualifiers. The first one begins on 16 January, the second one — 25 January. The North American qualifier begins on 12 February. Apart from the slot the winners of the qualifiers will get reimbursement for the flight and accommodation in Katowice.
