Romania to host CS:GO major

DreamHack, supported by PGL and Valve, will hold a major tournament in Romania Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in late October. $250 000 is at stake. The list of participants consists of eight most powerful teams of the world, Ukraine Natus Vincere among them. The tournament will last for five days, from 28 October till 1 November. The first matchday will be held in closed studio, and the following four matchdays will be played in Polyvalent Hall, which was recently opened and sets up to 7 000 viewers. 16 teams will participate in the event, but only 8 of them have been announced.

The remaining 8 teams will be determined at DreamHack Open Stockholm, which will become a qualifier to the major tournament. The qualifiers will be held on 22-26 September at Monster Energy DreamHack Studios and Annexet Stockholm Globe Arenas, which seat up to 2000 viewers. The tournament in Cluj-Napoca will be held simultaneously with ESWC, but the latter has a smaller prize pool — $80 000. There's no information on how the organizers will solve this problem.

  • Ukraine Na`Vi
  • Sweden fnatic
  • Poland
  • Brazil Luminosity
  • France EnVyUs
  • Denmark TSM
