Dota 2 tournament at Gaming Paradise cancelled
Dota 2 tournament in Slovenia has been cancelled, the reasons to be announced only on 9 September. The organizers informed about it this morning and promised to return money to all the viewers, who bought tickets to the event. This was the first Dota 2 LAN after The International, and many famous teams had been planning to come here, including Virtus.pro, 4clovers, compLexity, Team Secret and others.
Gaming Paradise is a multi-gaming event. In particular, Dota 2 matches were to begin on 10 September. However, the tournament was unexpectedly cancelled. Probably the organizers faced serious problems with equipment. As a result they got behind the schedule. It happened after a vehicle, transporting gaming computers to the event, suddenly disappeared. After reporting the loss, the organizers managed to solve the problem by renting new computers without video cards. The adjustment of computers took additional time. This resulted in 10+ hours postponement of CS:GO tournament of Gaming Paradise. By the second day of the tournament it became obvious that the organizers don't fit in the schedule.
The reasons of the cancellation of Dota 2 tournament of Gaming Paradise are both technical and financial. The unplanned expenses for new computers were made, and probably that was the reason for Dota 2 tournament cancellation. This will enable the organizers to avoid extra expenses.
Natus Vincere's Dota 2 team was initially invited to the tournament. The roster of the team wasn't complete at the time, as a result the Born to Win decided not to go to the event.
