Na`Vi.rmN-: Career overview

With the recent additions to the UkraineNatus Vincere G2A Dota 2 Roster, plenty of fresh blood has been brought on board. Having already introduced the captain, SwedenPer Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille, it is time to take a look at one of our new support players GermanyRoman “rmN-” Paley and his career so far.
Even though he might not be such a household name as Pajkatt, rmN- has been around the competitive DotA scene for quite a while. During that extensive career, his path has crossed Natus Vincere several times already.
He started his career back in DotA 1 days with the German squad GermanydiamondZ, where he joined forces with GermanyDominik “Black^” Reitmeier, GermanyRene “Kebap” Werner and GermanyDominik “hex0r” Buhmann in 2010. After dmZ disbanded, both rmN- and Black^ moved on to GermanyLAGINHEAD, which later signed a contract to play under the banner of the British brand United KingdomUnique-Esports. In 2011 rmN- joined Team InternationalGosuGamers, teaming up with GermanyKuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi. With GosuGamers he also made the transition to DotA 2.

After leaving GosuGamers, Roman had short stints with the German teams GermanyJust 4 the tournament and Germanyuebelst gamynG before joining InternationalKaipi alongside SwedenJohan “pieliedie” Åström. However, the roster at Kaipi did not hold up for long and he returned to uebelst gamynG.
In the summer of 2013, rmN- made his first appearances under the banner of UkraineNa`Vi, serving as a Stand-In in several league games, including StarLadder Star Series Season 6 and RaidCall Dota 2 League Season 3.
In late 2013, both rmN- and his former uebelst gamynG teammate GermanyEduard “EDE” Birkle took their talents to the CIS DotA scene by joining Russian FederationThe Retry, which was captained by Russian FederationVladimir “PGG” Anosov. However, a few months later, rmN- decided to move on to SwedenQPAD Red Pandas where he joined SwedenNiklas “Wagamama” Högström. The team was later rebranded to InternationalVhoul Assassins
With the disband of Vhoul Assassins, Roman saw the chance to return to the German scene by joining EDE once more in GermanyGOOMBA Gaming. With GOOMBA he saw extensive league play, including StarLadder Season 11 and 12 and Dreamleague Season 3. StarLadder Season 12 featured a best of three series versus UkraineNa`Vi, where the German side managed to take one game before the CIS powerhouse took home the series victory.
In September of 2015 followed the invitation from KuroKy to join his team International5Jungz, which was soon picked up by the United States Minor Outlying IslandsTeam Liquid brand, as a sub. Shortly after, rmN- set his sights towards the CIS scene once more. After short stops in smaller teams such as Russian Federation.aSpera., Russian Federationhard’N’play, UkraineScaryFaceZ, and Russian FederationElements Pro Gaming, he checked in with BelarusPower Rangers, where he got to play the qualifiers for the Shanghai Major as well as renowned leagues such as Dota Pit. Despite playing carry for most of his career, he decided to switch to the support role upon joining Power Rangers, which proved vital for his career development.
In March of last year, Roman took the opportunity to sign with Russian FederationFantastic Five to play alongside longtime Na`Vi carry UkraineAlexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich. With rmN- on the team, Fantastic Five managed to achieve Top 2 finishes in four minor tournaments, including the WellPlay Invitational and the NVIDIA Dota 2 CIS Cup.
Despite this large amount of experience, rmN- has mostly remained under the radar for most of the DotA community. Still, the insight and understanding of the game that come with years of playing DotA against and alongside top level players will certainly help him adjust to the bigger stage of playing for UkraineNatus Vincere. Welcome aboard Roman!
