The results of the European finals HWC
European regional championship within the framework of Heroes of the Storm World Championship — Road to BlizzCon lasted for four months. It was recently over with an exceptionally beautiful final as its crown. It's time to look back, analyse and summarize. Needless to say, that it was European tournament, which drew most attention, since American region was way too predictable and Asian region brought few surprizes. Meanwhile the battle in the Old World was very intensive.
Each of eight participants could surprize the rivals and take first place. The tossing put all the tournament's favorites in one group, while the other group had weaker though equally strong teams. It was impossible to predict, which team will get to play off. The first surprize of the group stage was made by one of the strongest teams of the world Team Liquid, which couldn't gain spot in the Grand Final. Meanwhile Fnatic, which was considered the most powerful in its group, unexpectedly took the fourth place.
The semifinals of the play off wasn't surprizing, Natus Vincere expectedly defeated Gamers2, and Team ROCCAT couldn't win a match against a crazy five Team Dignitas. Anyway, the grand final compensated the lack of surprizes. Nobody could predict that Brightwings, The Butcher and Falstad would be picked for the final game of European regional qualifiers. However, the Born to Win did pick the three unpopular heroes in the final match and won. Mind that the heroes picked by the winners in the final match as well as their skins will be subject to discount in the shop during one week after the final.
