SL i-League: Virtus.Pro pushes down Na`Vi

In the last game of Group A for the SL i-League second qualifying round Ukraine Natus Vincere played against Russian Federation Virtus.Pro for a direct place at the LAN final. The runner-up of the games ended up in the "Last Chance" bracket for the last chance to get to the finals.

The early game saw some successful rotations from the Earthshaker Earthshaker by Belarus Artem "fng" Barshak. Securing a few important kills within the first couple of minutes meant that VP went into the mid-game with a gold advantage. Having more powerful heroes in 5v5 fights, VP managed to extend their lead on the back of some well-executed team fights. In order to get back into the game Natus Vincere tried for a Roshan, but were caught by VP and they could not hold up in the battle. The first highground push came at the 28th minute from the side of VP, where Na`Vi succeded in holding their base for a little longer. Another unsuccessful team fight from us meant that VP was able to claim the next Aegis of Immortal with which they closed out the game.

For the second game Virtus.Pro went for an early Broodmother Broodmother pick. Na`Vi tried to respond with a massively AoE damage based line-up. Going up against Dark Seer Dark Seer, played by Russian Federation Dmitry "Ax.Mo" Morozov, Broodmother managed to come out on top in the laning phase. Na`Vi was looking to shut down the enemy  Gyrocopter Gyrocopter, as Russian Federation Dmitry "Ditya Ra" Minenkov and Ukraine Ivan "Artstyle" Antonov went to the off-lane, scoring a kill on him with the carry  Windranger Windranger and Undying Undying respectively. During the mid-game, our players tried to recover the gold deficit, but were unable to keep up with constantly pushing Broodmother. Bane Bane had a major role in turning around team fights once Na’Vi decided to push, greatly utilizing the hero's Nightmare Nightmare and Brain Sap Brain Sap spells. Meanwhile, Ukraine Alexander "DkPhobos" Kucheria took control of the Radiant jungle, meaning that Ukraine Danil "Dendi" Ishutin's Shadow Fiend Shadow Fiend had his farm taken away. The former made it hard for the Born to Win squad to stack their jungle, cutting out this source of income. Slowly VP managed to grind down the Na`Vi resistance with the help of the greatly farmed Broodmother and finished off the game at 30 minutes.

Final scoreline for Game 2

This result means that Natus Vincere will participate in the “Last Chance” bracket, facing the two last-place teams of each group. Let’s hope that this loss will not influence the morale of our team, who have been showing a good run of form in recent weeks. Our first opponent of the play-offs is not yet defined, as there is still a game to be played in Group B. Stay tuned for more information.

Dendi's WR has just not worked. Think he has lost the last 5-6 WR games. Give him QOP or Puck or any hero that has to buy blink like Magnus. Artstyle please stop dying so many times, always like 8 or 10 deaths per game is not good, you need to pull your weight. Hope you guys come good soon, been a long long wait. Been waiting since TI4 :(
