SL1DE: Inside Na’Vi’s WoT team

Red Bull's eSports Unfold published an article with a behind-the-scenes look at World of Tanks Grand Finals, held in Warsaw.

"Ukraine Dmitry “SL1DE” Frishman doesn’t just know how to play Wargaming’s World of Tanks. He knows how to zone everything out – a vital ability when you’re a professional gamer on stage at one of the biggest eSports tournaments in the world.
“I don’t think of anything, I only concentrate on the result of the game,” the teenager tells Red Bull in an exclusive look behind the scenes at the recent Grand Finals in Warsaw, run in cooperation with ESL.
The latest subject of our hit eSports Unfold series, Na'Vi star Ukraine Frishman talks us through through the challenges of training with his team for up to 10 hours a day, all while trying to balance a life away from the screen, studying as a student in his native Kharkiv, Ukraine, keeping fit and catching up with his friends.
It’s not just the demands of a life outside gaming though: as Frishman points out, now that he’s a recognisable personality in the scene, there are interviews to conduct and autographs to sign too. But thanks to the support of his family – his grandfather cancelled a holiday to watch him compete in the Grand Finals – he wouldn’t change it for anything. “I’m proud of what I’ve achieved so far,” he says."
