SL i-League StarSeries Predictions
Next week the best Counter-Strike teams in the world will travel to Minsk, Belarus to compete in the 13th Season of the StarLadder i-League StarSeries. The event will take place inside the Minsk Arena, which will be filled with 18,000 eSports fans cheering for their favorite teams.
The first LAN event of 2016 will feature 8 teams fighting for the title and the prizepool of over $200,000. Na`Vi will start their journey to the title in group A, where they are joined by Luminosity Gaming, G2 Esports and the Chinese squad - Cyberzen making their first international appearance, after defeating TyLoo in the Chinese qualifier finals.
Group B is the death group, featuring 3 of the 4 best teams in the world, Fnatic, EnvyUs, who replace Method Gaming, and ex-TeamSoloMid. The final team in that group is the French side of Titan. With only 3 teams from each group advancing to the playoffs every team will have to be on top of their game if they want to have a chance of making it to the elimination bracket.
The Minsk Arena will be packed with 18,000 people.
Our team comes into the StarLadder i-League StarSeries finals as one of the top 3 teams in the world, and they want to prove to everyone why they deserve that title. Na`Vi team is the number 1 contender to win group A, and is alongside EnvyUs and Fnatic one of the favorites to win the tournament. The CIS team finished 2015 in strong fashion winning IEM San Jose and placing second and the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals where they were defeated by their nemesis - Fnatic, who they will have to overcome if they want to take home the title. The crowd’s favorites in Minsk, our players will be on top of their game, and will do everything they can to make their fans proud and they will surely defeat Fnatic, once and for all.
- Luminosity Gaming
The brazilian team finished the year of 2015 with mixed results, after replacing Lucas "steel" Lopes and Ricardo "boltz" Prass for Lincoln "fnx" Lau and Epitacio "TACO" Pessoa, the team placed second in the FACEIT 2015 Stage 3 Finals, only losing to Fnatic in the finals, but in the final tournament of the year, ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals, they had a disappointing run, being unable to make it out of the group stage. Luminosity is always a dangerous team and they enter this tournament in max power.
- G2 Esports
One of the most improved teams of 2015, the European side was a constant presence in most tournaments during the finals months of 2015 having decent results, including a 3rd-4th place at the last major - Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca, where they were defeated by EnvyUs in what is considered to be the best Bo3 in 2015. With Philip "aizy" Aistrup on their roster, the team is one of the most exciting teams to watch and their mix of European talent is looking to continue to improve in 2016 with StarSeries being their first chance to do so.
The wildcard team, CyberZen will make their first appearance in the international stage, but they will have to bring their A game if they look to have any chance to progress as they will face teams with a lot more experience than them. After beating the favorites to win the Chinese Qualifier, TyLoo 3-1 in the finals, they come into this tournament looking to surprise everyone and clinch a spot in the playoffs.

Considered by most of the community the best team in 2015, now with Dennis "dennis" Edman on their roster, the Swedish team will go head to head with EnvyUs in the battle for first place in Group B, as they look to continue to maintain their title as the best team in the world. Fnatic are surely one of the favorites to make it to the grand finals but they will have to watch out for any surprises that may appear along the way. They will surely be on their A game and they are the team to beat.
Going into their 2nd tournament after leaving TeamSoloMid, the team has found a new home but hasn’t yet disclosed who it is. Appearing to the be the appetizer in the group that offers us a clash between EnvyUs and Fnatic, ex-TSM is looking to prove that they are one of the best teams in the world and that they can beat everyone. The team had a decent year in 2015 but started to fall short near the end of the year with their major accomplishment being a 2nd place at IEM San Jose where they were beat by Na`Vi in the grand finals, they now enter 2016 looking to shake that off and have a good start to the year.
The underdogs in Group B, the French/Belgian squad couldn’t have landed in a worse group - it will be extremely hard for them to progress to the playoff stage. However, the team never shied away from a challenge and they surely won’t start now and they will give it all they got in the hopes of qualification to play in Minsk Arena in front of a massive crowd. The team has been on a run of disappointing results but they hope that this will be the tournament where they turn it around and give their fans a reason to cheer for but it will be borderline impossible.
Winners of the last major - Dreamhack Cluj-Napoca, the French side is, alongside Fnatic and Na`Vi one of the favorites to win but they can’t be overconfident as they were trumped in the past by both Fnatic and Na`Vi. After an impressive run of constant presences in finals towards the end of 2015, the team had a disappointing 3rd-4th place finish at the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals where they were beaten 2-0 by Na`Vi. Looking to enter 2016 in the best way possible there’s no doubt they will be tough competition to everyone present at the tournament.
