Some words about your latest game versus M5? VladTepes : The first game was really dissapoiting for us because our pick didn't fit our gamestyle. We tried to play it really defensive which is not what we used to do. The second game was really amazing and Russians Phoenix : Ukrainians! VladTepes : Right, they were screaming "DOMOY!" (go home - translation) so I guess they don't like M5... We played our strat and it was the strat we used at the beginning of our team - it was our first success in professional gaming. You're now going to play a 3rd place decider match, whom would you like to be your opponent - Na`Vi or TR and why? Phoenix : We want to face PPG. We want to flame PGG. We want to make him scream. ASUS Cup Spring 2011 Coverage: Day One

ASUS Cup Spring 2011 Coverage: Day One

DotAmatches start tomorrow and as always we are going to focus on Natus Vincere teams and players who will be fighting for the most prestigious CIS-tournament trophy. So get your favorite drinks and food and follow the live coverage here at www.navi-gaming.com ! Counter-Strike STREAM: StarCraft 2 STREAM: [ 22:35 Kiev ] - Bad news: due technical problems we had a dalay in out report. Good news: Na`Vi joins playoff from the first place. Tommorow we face to face with Selectah. Start at 10:00 Kiev. [ 20:58 Kiev ] - Na`Vi beats Begrip and will now face ZORN for playoff quote. [ 19:45 Kiev ] - Unfortunately our team loses to Uzbeki squad Storm with 11 to16 score. [ 18:55 Kiev ] - Meanwhile we've caught Mykhailo " Kas " Hayda for an inteview: Hi Mikhail. We can't see you too often on LAN-tournwhy? Kas : Actually I'm a frequent visitor of such tournaments. To be honest, I try to attend every LAN I can. There aren't too many European tournaments and if I am invited for any, I attend it. People say that terran is imba. What can you say about that? Kas : Everyting is constantly changing so it doesn't rely on patch but on players who are playing the game and finding all those features. Someone finds something interesting everyday which can drastically change the whole gameplay. So I don't think that terran is imba :) How difficult it is to switch your race? Like playing terran and than start to pwn everyone with Protoss? Kas : It is possible, of course. But it is extremely difficult. It depends on a player himself, his motivation and his gamestyle. The thing Morrow did is possible but you have to have a huge motivation and - important note - you have to be okay with that race. Some player cannot play a certain race and they change it. It depends on many factors and I don't think everyone is able to do such a change. Why did you pick terran? Kas : I've been playing terran in all games and I also played as human before (in WC3). I like this race a lot and enjoy playing it. Which European country is the best at SC2 at the moment? Kas : Sweden, I guess. There are lots of skilled players there. And even if a player doesn't belong to the top, he is capable to beat such players. And Ukraine, of course. Actually these are leading coutries. Overall there are 1-2-3 players in each country that are dangerous. But I think these two countries have the biggest lineup of star players. Do you practice with Koreans? Kas : No, it's very hard to do. I don't think there is any European that practices with Koreans. The ping difference is huge. These practice won't make sense so there is noone which would do so. But if you don't practice with them, beating them would be so hard... Kas : Well, I disagee. It's all about the game after all. If you find a replay, you can study the game. Yeah, they have different style and different build orders. They have their own way, we have our own. We were starting the game from another perspective and that's why we are playing differently. If you are a good player, you can analyse this and see it on your own, reading your opponent and finding a way to beat him. Beating Koreans is possible but you need to be smart and do everyting perfectly. There aren't many European players on ASUS. Whom would you like to see here? Kas : It's a difficult question. I'd like to see here any skilled player which has good shape. But I think it's hard to invite them because travelling here takes much time and such tournaments like ASUS are more CIS-oriented. So I guess inviting European players won't make much sense. Tell us how does this tournament go for you? Kas : I passed the groupstage but have just lost to my teammate Happy. He's going to play semifinals against either Bly or UnderDark. Didn't you were surprized with the tournament format? Kas : Actually I was. It was DE before but this time they decided to make it Single Elimination. Everyone was a little bit upset because of bo1 format in the groupstage. The time is very limited, we are taking pressure because of other disciplines' matches... Did you practice hard for the event? Are you happy with your performance? Kas : It's possible to say that I didn't practice for it at all. It is a good LAN-tournament that is hosted in your country and you just have to attend it. There are good players, friends and all that combined make a special feeling. But I didn't set my mind on winning this ASUS. allright, Mykhailo, thanks for your answers and good luck! Kas : Good luck to you too! [ 18:10 Kiev ] - Second groupstage seedings is available. Our team will face Ukrainian team ZORG (ex-double damage),Russian team Begrip and team from Uzbekistan STORM . [ 17:40 Kiev ] - First groupstage round is now over and there will be a drawing for the second groupstage. The matches will resume shortly. [ 17:01 Kiev ] - StarCraft 2 stream added. Playoff matches will start in few minutes, Na`Vi.HappyZerg will play yet another Zerg mirror versus Belarus player LoWeLy . [ 16:36 Kiev ] - Playoff brackets are now available. Check the expanded newsfeed. [ 15:19 Kiev ] - Alf follows a good example of his fellow teammate and also wins his first match against mighty mTw.Dimaga. [ 14:43 Kiev ] - HappyZerg gives a punch to the table and that means that he has won his first match. Now he will meet one of the best European terran Empire.Kas. [ 14:15 Kiev ] - Main Group Stage round is about to start. Check the seedings in the expanded newsfeed. [ 12:50 Kiev ] - HappyZerg and Alf both have passed the qualifier and will now compete in main ASUS Cup Spring 2011 tournament. Unfortunately Panda was not able to pass the qualifier and therefore is eliminated. [ 11:55 Kiev ] - Winning 26 to 4, Na`aVi is the first team to proceed to second groupstage round. The next rounds starts at approximately 17:00 Kiev time (CET+1). [ 11:55 Kiev ] - Na`Vi started their second match versus 99problems . HLTV - hltv1.verygames.net:27056 [ 11:42 Kiev ] - First StarCraft 2 matches have already started. Na`Vi.HappyZerg , Na`Vi.Alf and Na`Vi.Panda are participating in the prequalifier. [ 11:00 Kiev ] - For uknown reasons team DS.iNSiGHT did not show up and therefore all teams in Group D will receive default win. Meanwhile Na`Vi is winning 7 to 1 as CT on de_train. [ 10:00 Kiev ] - At the moment SC2 and Quake Live players are signing up for the event while Counter-Strike teams have already started to warm up. Comment by Daniil ' Dendi ' Ishutin: PowerRangers is a strong team which they already proved on last ASUS Cup tournament. Now they are in ES-Area finals and believe me, advancing to the finals isn't easy at all. Despite this fact, we're going to get a victory in this match and there's simply no other way;)

Na`Vi will miss Intel Challenge 8: Super

Na`Vi will miss Intel Challenge 8: Super
After winning the last season of Intel Challenge SuperCup , Na`Vi will skip the eighth edition of the championship. The decision was dictated by the birth of Danylo " Zeus " Teslenko's daughter which means our team won't be able to perform well at the event. The level of teams competing in this season is really high and as usual we are not willing to play anything else but our A-game. Natus Vincere CEO, Alexander « ZeroGravity » Kokhanovskyy commented on the situation: «Intel Challenge SuperCup is the tournament you have to prepare well for, especially with all these teams participating this season. Due to the recent event in our team, we have decided to drop out from season 8. We are used to please our fans with a well-prepared and a high-quality game, however at the time being we are simply cannot rely on our current shape».
